This position provides leadership, management, and oversight to the facility in the absence of administrative and management personnel. The incumbent is a consultant for emergency and unusual circumstances, both clinical and administrative. This position follows up on problems and/or concerns with the appropriate department and/or administrative personnel at multiple levels (system, patient, clinicians). This position provides assistance with problem-solving; ensuring adequate staffing and material resources are available to support patient care; support and facilitate efficient operational activities such as bed management and patient throughput, identifying and proactively addressing staff education needs, and proactively supporting activities to ensure the highest physician, patient, and family satisfaction.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Requires current nursing license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Master of Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS).
  • Recent, relevant experience to support a highly skilled ability to lead and to coach, and to provide effective clinical reasoning, decision-making and critical thinking.
  • A high level of interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to maintain quality-working relationships.
  • Ability to recognize and respect cultural diversity.
  • Commitment to goal-directed, quality patient care outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and manage resource utilization.
  • Ability to maintain standards of patient confidentiality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, with special emphasis on patient/family-centered care.
