About the Mobile Stroke Unit:

Are you seeking to join a community of Paramedics that are dedicated to providing the best level of care possible? Then the Paramedic role on the IU Health Mobile Stroke Unit may be for you! Through decades of care, Indiana has been able to launch the state's first mobile stroke treatment unit.

Our team is looking for a motivated individual with experience working in a fast-paced, think-on-your toes environment, preferably within a busy EMS system or ED. The Mobile Stroke Unit is responsible for providing life or death service to patients, therefore team members need to feel comfortable, and confident, working independently.

These teams will be racing to the scene of patients who are having a stroke, provide a CT scan, and if needed, give lifesaving, clot-busting medicine on the spot. These team members will have the opportunity to work on a neuro ICU on wheels with some of the industry's leading equipment and technology.

Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required. ACLS;BLS;PALS;EMT-P Indiana Paramedic license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
• Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred.
• Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.
• In addition to these requirements, the Community Paramedic for Heart & Lung Ctr also has these requirements: Requires successful completion of IUH BMH Community Paramedic/Integrated HealthCare Core Curriculum within 6 months of hire, minimum of 4 years of paramedic experience preferred.

Safeguarding our patients and each other is an important part of how we deliver the best care possible to the communities we serve. As a condition of employment, IU Health requires all new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, barring an approved exemption. New hires will also be provided the option to submit proof of previous vaccination.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion at IU Health. IU Health does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, national origin, gender identity and/or expression, marital status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
