About the Position:
Are you interested in utilizing your EMT knowledge but not sure how? Then working as an Emergency-Room Technician (ED-Tech) might be the flawless fit for you! Our team in the Arnett Emergency Department is seeking qualified, and motivated, EMTs to join their team in supporting the Lafayette, IN community!
While working in the ED, team members gain exposure to various different types of patients and scenarios. This means qualified candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, they will be acclimated to collaborating with other team members such as Paramedics and Nurses.
All IU Health employees are able to utilize a magnitude of benefits provided by IUH. These include on-site exercise areas, and certification/education continuation, to name a few
Responds in an emergency medical vehicle to the scene of reported emergencies, non-emergencies and inter-hospital transports. Provides efficient and immediate basic life support care to the patient at the scene and en-route to and in the hospital. Performs non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. Performs specialized life sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service. Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of the critically ill or injured.
• Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires Indiana State drivers license.

- Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required, or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.
