We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity available on our Medical ICU at University Hospital!

Our Shift Coordinator in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) manages clinical outcomes, cost, customer satisfaction and administrative efforts in the daily care assignment and in the operations of the unit. This individual will coordinate care and administration support for a patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. The Shift Coordinator will also serve as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary, as well as create an environment that enables a highly engaged team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care. 

MICU is a very fast paced unit that engages critical thinking and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities:

• Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required. Masters of Nursing preferred.
• Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
