Job Description

Overview

Destination Services is the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for destination patient care. Reporting to the Director of Destination Services, the Manager will provide leadership to and manage Clincal Coordinators while also working alongside them to provide patient care coordination and concierge services. Works with the Director on strategic planning and international business development. Partners with the Director to build and grow embassy relationships and be a point person for managing patient care communication. Collaborates with physicians, clinicians, support staff and administrators from multiple divisions and departments, both internally and externally of IU Health, regarding international patients' whole care. Manages and provides navigation, case coordination and management support for initial and ongoing care of international patients until medically discharged to return to their home country. Manages the process to prepare cost estimates and financial summaries, responsible for overseeing communication with patients/families/embassies regarding details of care.

 Bachelors Degree required (e.g., Healthcare, Business)
• Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years of experience in healthcare/hospital setting, case management, care coordinator and/or utilization review that involved significant interaction with patients and/or clinical personal; international healthcare experience preferred.
• Requires experience communicating and collaborating with physicians, clinical and administrative teams.
• Requires fluency in English and non-English language with ability to speak, read and write proficiently in both languages. Strong cultural awareness across many cultures and backgrounds.
• Requires knowledge of healthcare referral, scheduling and admission systems in the U.S.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and enhance collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ability to conceptualize, develop, implement and evaluate projects independently.
• Experience in business development and strategic planning.
• Possess analytical and project management skills.
• Experience interacting directly with patients.
• Requires some domestic and international travel.
• Working knowledge of and proficiency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
