IU Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center has a wonderful opportunity for a Nurse looking to grow in their career! We are currently seeking a Nurse Navigator to join our collaborative team. This position works Monday-Friday, Day shift, no nights, weekends or holidays!

Guided by the IU Health values – Compassion, Team, Excellence, and Purpose - the PRN Nurse Navigator will partner with our various oncologists and team members to coordinate and manage the care needs of assigned patients and develop comprehensive individualized care plans. The navigator will collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and other health care professionals to ensure appropriate tests and treatments are delivered in a timely fashion and cost-effective manner. As a float between multiple oncological teams, flexibility, strong communication and organizational skills are required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with managing patient care across the continuum of care, assisting provider and team members with patients in outpatient clinic setting, assisting with outpatient procedures including collection of labs, assisting with medication management and administration, assisting with prior authorization for medications and procedures, providing continuing patient education throughout care continuum, prepping charts for new patient visits, data collection, order entry, aiding team members with covering tasks on high volume days, assisting with patient coverage when scheduled and/or non-scheduled absences occur, attend and participate in unit and house wide committees for process improvements, daily huddles, and scheduled staff meetings.
