The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. This position will manage clinical outcomes, cost, and customer satisfaction in the daily care assignment and in the operations of the unit. The role will assure care for patient and families reflective of IU Health’s values. Additionally, the role will provide on-site management and clinical support to staff for a designated shift and time frame. Other responsibilities include: providing direction and assistance with problem-solving, ensuring adequate staffing and material resources are available, to support child care, support and facilitate operational activities such as bed management, problem solving patient/family/and physician complaints, identify and address staff education deficits, and to communicate poly and procedure changes to staff on the shift for which they are assigned responsibility.

Location: Working at both UH and MH.

Shift: 5 days per week (7-4:30) M-F with rotating days off. Open to (4) 10-hour shifts as well.

Experience: At least 2 years of RN experience required.

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

• Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.

• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

• Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
