Overview

Lead Senior Tax Analyst - Hybrid

This role serves as a leader to staff and seniors on the tax team and assists the Manager and Executive Director in the operation of the Tax Department as it relates to tax compliance, planning, and research.

Strongly desire a highly engaged team member who is interested in developing their role as an in-house tax technical expert.  Strategic thinking, taking initiative, and leadership attributes are key to success in this position.

 

This role:

  • Handles federal, state, and local tax return compliance for Indiana's largest healthcare system consisting of both taxable and tax-exempt organizations.
  • Is responsible for project planning, tracking status of projects, as well as day to day direction and mentoring of tax staff
  • Advises management regarding the effects of business activities on taxes, and staying abreast of pending tax legislation and understanding the potential impact to the system.
  • Interacts with many other teams within the IU Health system.
  • Provides ongoing analysis, development, and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax team.
  • May be asked to help support the legal entity reduction efforts driven by the Tax Department.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

 Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance or related field a plus.
•Requires 3+ years of relevant financial or operational analysis experience; at least 2 years of experience in healthcare industry preferred.
• Requires analytical experience working with complex data sets.
• Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products/applications; strong Microsoft Excel experience required; relational database and financial or operational modeling experience a plus.
