Description

Manages a complex portfolio of projects for the Office of Health Equity Research and Engagement.  Ensures projects are managed appropriately, utilizing standard project management methodologies, processes, tools, and resource planning. Develops project plans based on customer specifications that result in optimized performance, efficiency, coordination, and collaboration among program partners.

Responsibilities

Project Management - Works with team members to develop solutions with sound methodologies, guidelines, and best practices; makes decisions and solve problems within project plan parameters; recognizes patterns, time sequences, events, or underlying issues in complex relationships; chooses the best alternative based on consideration of pros, cons, tradeoffs, timing, and available resources.

Business Acumen - Exhibits a solid understanding of the organization and how it is structured, the dynamics of the health systems industry at large, and the overall competitive landscape. Has foundational knowledge of health equity operations and the patients, communities, and stakeholders they serve. Manages projects and initiative budgets, and consistently applies principles of core health equity functions (community outreach and engagement, quality and safety, program evaluation, performance improvement, diversity and inclusion) to make sound judgments.

Execution - Drives results by assigning clear authority and accountability, integrating and aligning efforts across the team, and monitoring progress against objectives. Conveys a strong sense of urgency around continuous improvement, achieving high quality results, and accelerating program performance. Addresses problems directly and drives changes necessary to achieve program objectives.

Collaboration - Proactively collaborates with others to find creative and innovative solutions. Actively contributes to team(s), and leads the achievement of team and organizational goals. Engages, guides and mentors team members to ensure they having meaningful work experiences. Works across multiple teams, often in a matrix environment. Involves others in decisions and plans, and credits them for their contributions and accomplishments.

Leadership - Takes the initiative to proactively resolve issues, address concerns, identify potential risks, and improve overall processes and outcomes. Seeks new ways to improve individual and team efforts for overall success, while promoting collaboration and teamwork. Prioritizes team member development, and provides frequent coaching and opportunities for two-way dialogue. Actions consistently exhibit and model the values of the organization.

Communication - Translates work unit initiatives for team members, linking their work to the broader strategy. Shares thoughts and information in a clear, concise, and professional manner, in both oral and written communication formats. Demonstrates active listening and seeks further information to ensure clarity and understanding. Proactively asks for input, and remains open to the thoughts and ideas of others. Can clearly articulate a firm decision when needed, while simultaneously ensuring team members understand the "Why", the "How" and the "What". Promptly responds to requests for information and works to proactively think through next steps and anticipate potential issues, requests, or business needs. Openly shares knowledge and expertise.

 Requires Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant Project Management experience required.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Healthcare Industry experience a plus.
• Experience working in a complex, matrix environment.
