Overview

Come grow your career with IU Health as an Injury Prevent Coordinator.  We have an exciting opportunity available at Ball Memorial Hospital. 

Improves trauma care within Indiana through injury prevention and public education programs/interventions that focus on the application of injury control and prevention principles to meet the needs of the Trauma Center. Accountable for coordinating, implementing, and maintaining injury prevention programs. Improves trauma patient outcomes via professional trauma education and interventions within Indiana. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop injury preventing programs and monitors plans to ensure the quality and effectiveness of interventions. Ensures compliance requirements made by the American College of Surgeons "Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient" as related to Injury Prevention. Oversees all the injury prevention programs including the screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) program.


 Requires Bachelor's degree in Nursing OR Masters Degree in Public Health.
• ATS Injury Prevention course required within 1 year of hire.
• Requires two years of program coordination experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of experience within hospital setting and basic knowledge of a trauma patient's care, public health, and/or epidemiology preferred.
• Requires working knowledge on injury prevention legislation activities and state activities.
• Child passenger safety technician/instructor preferred.
