Build your career with a growing Team.  IU Health has an outstanding opportunity available for a Clinical Nurse- Ambulatory Specialty Coordinator to join us in our Neuroscience Center in Indianapolis.

The Clinical Nurse- Specialty Coordinator coordinates the care of a similar patient population of high acuity patient of all ages within their department or specialty. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as the clinical expert of assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs department and system leadership or educational activities as necessary to support the specific department or specialty. Applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and may be responsible for developing a core curriculum in conjunction with the clinical educator and oversee orientation and ongoing staff education and evaluation. Acts as a role model, resource person and member of the leadership team as well as keeping the organization's mission and vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities. This position is a working coordinator may provide duties with direct patient care, quality assurance activities, and day to day coordination of clinic direct patient care staff and clinical activities. 

This position will be Monday-Friday on day shift.

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Degree from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE with a current Indiana Registered Nurse License.
  • Two years' experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
  • Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
  • Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
