Job Description

Overview

Receives, coordinates and dispatches information and instructions to IU Health Security and Police Officers for assistance and protective services. Monitors closed circuit security television system for purpose of recognizing out-of-the-ordinary conditions possibly resulting in assistance. Maintains training to ensure equipment is functioning appropriately and is able to access needed cameras when appropriate.
High School Diploma/GED required. Associates Degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience dispatching or comparable experience preferred.
• Must not have a criminal record.
• Requires attendance of all dispatcher meetings and continuous training courses.
• Must successfully complete on-the-job training as determined by the IU Health Police Department.
• Requires working knowledge of computers and various software applications.
• Requires knowledge and understanding of departmental and the organization policies and procedures in addition to knowledge and understanding of designated and approved security measures and practices.
