Job Description

Overview

We are currently in the market for a Clinical Specialist to join our team at the Riley Children's Hospital Sleep Lab. This position exists to exhibit excellence in patient care areas and to serve as a positive role model, mentor, educator and resource to all staff. This position will support the department by being the exemplar resource in abilities, ownership, and maintaining the standards of service for their team members and other colleges needing guidance in the area of Respiratory Care.

Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support.

Outside of working with groundbreaking technologies and therapies, our RTs get the opportunity to grow their medical knowledge and skills. They do this by working closely with patients and team members to build personalized therapies. Along with endless opportunities for continued advancement, our Respiratory teams also have a phenomenal promotional ladder within IU Health to continue their professional advancement.

IU Health also offers different opportunities for career and professional development for our staff that qualify for benefits. This includes continued education and certification opportunities and tuition reimbursement.

 Requires current Indiana licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires R.R.T. (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential by the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care).
• Requires an AS degree from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and a regionally accredited respiratory care. Preferred BS degree.
• Requires Healthcare Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Requires other advanced life support certifications per unit/department of specialty within 6 months of hire (ACLS, NRP, PALS).
• Requires 2-4 years experience in Respiratory Care.
• Requires 1 year experience in area of specialty. Preferred 2 years? experience in area of specialty.
• Requires ability to apply basic computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
