Job Description

Overview

The HRO Program Director for the South Central Region leads the transformative quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency improvement efforts for the region. This leader provides the overall direction and execution of HRO principles in alignment with short term and long term operational and strategic goals. The HRO Program Director fosters an environment that encourages innovative ideas from team members and builds buy-in across the region, incorporating strong HRO principles into the culture. This leader will manage complex projects, identify analytical capabilities, and possess the curiosity to ask probing questions that drive insight. The HRO Program Director will develop practical solutions that align with HRO best practices by partnering across the business unit and in collaboration with the quality and safety teams (regional and system). This leader will build strategic roadmaps that are prioritized based on business objectives and organizational feasibility. This leader will work autonomously and exercise initiative and balanced judgement. The HRO Program Director will report to the Vice President-Chief Medical Officer for the South Central Region and will be an individual contributor.

Additional opportunities include:

  • Providing high reliability subject matter expertise to local executive and clinical leadership.
  • Serving as a leader and advisor on implementation and execution of HRO principles and leading practices.
  • Supporting teams to identify areas of opportunities to improve healthcare delivery and promote maximum synchronization, integration, and transparency.
  • Developing tools and leading practices to support the region’s improvement of patient care.
  • Measuring results to validate effectiveness and identify new areas of opportunity.

Education, experience, and qualifications: 

  • MBA, MHA or equivalent experience in a business role required.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. 
  • Process improvement / lean / operational excellence experience highly desired. 
  • Expert in healthcare high reliability organization (HRO) principles strongly preferred.
