Overview

**Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy and have an active Indiana Pharmacy Intern License. Students must be P1 or P2 students at the time of applying**

Riley Hospital for Children is recruiting highly motivated pharmacy students with a strong interest in pediatrics for our pediatric pharmacy internship program. Interns engage in activities designed to complement the didactic pharmacy school curriculum. Key experiences include operational triage, drug dispensing, medication delivery, counseling, medication reconciliation, quality improvement (QI) projects, clinical research, topic discussions, formal presentations, and clinical shadowing.

This program is a 10 week, full-time experience during the summer with continuing weekend shifts throughout the academic year.

When completing the online application, please provide the following required application materials:

Letter of intent (max 1 page). At minimum, please describe why you are interested in the program and pediatric pharmacy, how it will help you achieve your career goals, and why you are a good fit for the internship

Curriculum vitae or resume

Provides comprehensive non-judgmental functions related to medication management. Assists with all functions related to the practice of Pharmacy and clerical duties. Provides lawful, compassionate, efficient, safe, and cost effective use of medications. Collaborates with and supports all customers.

 Requires current Pharmacy Technician training permit or pharmacy intern license in good standing with the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy; Pharmacy Technician license for the State of Indiana preferred.
• One year of hospital experience preferred.
• Requires knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws.
• Requires knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Requires knowledge of procedures for operating automated dispensing machines.
