Overview
This role is within Bloomington's Cardiopulmonary Rehab department within the Heart & Lung Rehab Center. We are seeking an individual who is driven to help patients reach their individual health goals after they have experienced an acute cardiac and/or pulmonary event. We are looking for a candidate that is self-driven, able to multi-task, and work efficiently in a face paced environment. This position requires the ability to interpret in real-time heart rhythms, check patient blood glucose levels, and maintain BLS and ACLS certification. -All of which IU Health assists the candidate in obtaining. The department is open Monday-Friday 0800-1630. There is a minimal weekend and holiday rotation within our inpatient cardiac rehab program component.
The position provides patient care by instructing, monitoring and recording patient's responses to a rehabilitation program that has been developed by an exercise physiologist and/or a physician. Trains and demonstrates proper exercise techniques and equipment use. Instructs patients in safe exercise routines. Utilizes skills to determine the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self care, cultural, ethnic and spiritual and educational needs of the client/family/significant other to develop, implement and revise the plan of care.
