Summary:
Responsible for coordinating all consult, admission, transfer and/or pre-op activities. Additional duties may include (not limited to): ensure that the team and call schedules are coordinated and communicated to all appropriate parties; coordinate weekend assignments and admission order; answer patient call line assisting patients and families with post discharge needs; assign new business to appropriate teams from overnight business and add assigned teams in Cerner; calculate daily census. This is a 12 hour shift, 3 days per week position with rotating weekends. – Shift times are 545a-545p.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or LPN program preferred.
Prior experience working in an admitting, bed management, patient placement/throughput setting, including demographic and financial requirements of payers preferred.
Requires the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with business partners.
Requires strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels of staff; including physicians, hospital administration, patients, and nursing staff in a professional manner.
