Job Description

Overview

Shifts and Location Availability:

Shifts: Supplemental/PRN (0-24 hours per week depending on shift availability); Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays

Location: Mobile Stroke Unit, Methodist Hospital- Indianapolis, IN

About the Mobile Stroke Unit:

Are you seeking to join a community of EMT's that are dedicated to providing the best level of care possible? Then the EMT role on the IU Health Mobile Stroke Unit may be for you! Through decades of care, Indiana has been able to launch the state's first mobile stroke treatment unit.

Our team is looking for a motivated individual with experience working in a fast-paced, think-on-your toes environment, preferably within a busy EMS system or ED. The Mobile Stroke Unit is responsible for providing life or death service to patients, therefore team members need to feel comfortable, and confident, working independently.

These teams will be racing to the scene of patients who are having a stroke, provide a CT scan, and if needed, give lifesaving, clot-busting medicine on the spot. These team members will have the opportunity to work on a neuro ICU on wheels with some of the industry's leading equipment and technology.

Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required, or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment
• Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
• Requires Indiana State drivers' license
