If you are looking to Build your nursing career, we have an outstanding opportunity available for a Wound Ostomy Clinical Nurse- Team Lead, to join us at our AAHC-Methodist Hospital location in Indianapolis.

This position will be a full-time day shift role, Monday-Friday.

The Team Lead- Wound Ostomy position exists to provide functional mentorship to staff and to perform duties of the area's major work functions. This position also coordinates scheduling, training and inventory duties. The incumbent fulfills the primary responsibilities involved coordinating the multidisciplinary approach in the evaluation, treatment, and facilitation of the wound ostomy process. The position is responsible for providing direction and coordination for a specific patient population with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems. Primary area of expertise is in the wound, ostomy and continence management. Also serve as a consultant to the health care team in area of expertise.

  • Requires an BSN and active (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
  • Requires current certification in Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (CWOCN) within 1 year of becoming eligible for certification.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other sophisticated life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Specializing in Wound and Ostomy Therapy.
  • Requires ability to supervise and perform multiple tasks, lead projects along with owning the utilization of resources.
  • Requires an awareness and understanding of legal implications of all patient care activities.
  • Able to assess patient and document status and ability to handle life threatening situations.
  • Requires leadership skills; excellent customer service; and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires knowledge and skills vital to deliver care appropriate to the age and development levels of the patients served.
  • Requires knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
