Overview
Exciting opportunity to work in a health system-based retail pharmacy operation within our downtown academic medical center. The pharmacy is located on the IU Health University Hospital Campus supporting University Hospital and Simon Cancer Center, providing the opportunity to collaborate with other pharmacy disciplines and directly with providers to meet the unique patient care needs within these facilities. Current facility support services provided by the team include Meds in Hand (medication discharge program for inpatients), new patient education for solid organ transplant patients, and clear bagging of infusion products within our infusion center. The pharmacy is also a core location within our URAC accredited Specialty Pharmacy Program which facilitates patient care for complex disease states in the region.

Typical Schedule:
Key job duties may consist of ensuring safety and effectiveness of the medication use process, processing and dispensing medications per order or prescription, medication therapy monitoring, regulatory compliance, maintaining oversight over pharmacist extenders, maintaining the security of medications, and protecting the confidentiality of patient information. Additionally, is competent at providing drug information support for medical staff, ensuring continuity of care, and identifying potential challenges in common situations.
