Job Description
Overview
This position is responsible for providing administrative decision making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources for IUH Perioperative Services, and SPD advisory capacity for the assigned hospital. Establishes policy and direction (programs and services) for department, and is accountable for department results. This position is also responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems for the perioperative services at IUH and all Sterile Processing Department (SPD) areas in the assigned hospital. Serves in advisory capacity to the metroplex facilities for SPD services. Responsible for 24-hour accountability.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Requires extensive nursing and leadership experience; which is typically gained through seven to ten years of progressive service.
• Requires an in-depth understanding of the Career Advancement Program and the ability to articulate the nursing professional practice model and all nursing pay programs.
• Requires ability to communicate and collaborative effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Requires the ability to build effective working relationships with the physicians.
• Requires an in-depth knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.
• Requires the ability to lead quality improvement initiatives.
• Has ultimate accountability for the management and utilization of resources.
• Requires the ability to facilitate and lead work groups.
• Requires knowledge of the organization personnel policies and procedures.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires ability to communicate sensitive issues with all level of employees/management.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires the ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
• Requires the ability to take initiative and meet objectives.
• Requires a high level of interpersonal; problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Requires a Master of Nursing or related fields (e . g . Public Health; Health Administration; Business Administration). Requires current state of Indiana licensure as a Registered Nurse.
