Overview

Apply for the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst/Visualization Developer role with IU Health! The working hours will be M-F approx 8-5pm with light on-call rotation. This will be a hybrid schedule with onsite responsibilities in Indianapolis as well as weekly remote opportunities! This role will be part of the IIS - Enterprise Analytics department within the Analytics Delivery team.

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst/Visualization Developer will analyze, interpret, and create meaningful visualizations of data in support of the team’s services to the organization utilizing visualization tools such as Google Looker.  This includes partnering and consulting with business and analytics teams to provide guidance and assistance in creating and streamlining Looker reports and underlying ETL pipelines. As part of the BI team, the BI Analyst will help develop and lead trainings to communicate best practices, and co-host office hours to provide direct assistance. Project stakeholders can include clinicians, research scientists, health service researchers, population health administration, and other analytics teams across the network. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a platform expert for one or more data visualization products (ex. Data/Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI) and stay current with product knowledge
  • Provide production-level support for Looker dashboards and reporting solutions along with performance tuning
  • Translate business requirements into efficient visualizations and reporting
  • Enable users to interact with the data and develop their own data insights using Looker
  • Identify and develop solutions to key strategic business problems using high-level modeling and statistical analyses techniques
  • Respond to operational data requests and create ad-hoc queries and reports
  • Troubleshoot production-related issues and coordinate successful resolution
  • Maintain high level of integrity in dealing with highly confidential and often sensitive clinical information

To be successful in this role, you will need strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change.  Using your experience to mentor less experienced team members, handling multiple assignments, collaborating with co-workers, and providing communication will also be essential to your success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience required.
  • Requires knowledge of SQL programming

Preferred:

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions; and
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in IT and business environments; ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills, with an ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment on multiple projects with competing priorities and a strong commitment to meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
