Overview
Riley Children’s Health announces the opening of a new maternity tower providing comprehensive obstetrics/gynecology services making Riley Hospital for Children one of a few hospitals nationwide that provides women, mothers and babies with a full continuum of high-quality, expert health care. Those services include a full spectrum of maternal and fetal medicine services, including an array of fetal diagnostic procedures and highly specialized fetal surgeries.
Under one roof, the Riley Maternity Tower includes 13 labor and delivery rooms, 3 intensive-care-unit rooms, 10 bed emergency/triage rooms, 4 operating rooms, 6 bay PACU, and infant-resuscitation rooms. It will also offer includes a Level IV neonatal intensive-care units to handle the most acute and complex medical cases for sick newborns.
The five-story tower is built to help address Indiana’s high infant mortality rate. It provides a continuum of care in one space while receiving the highest level of care.

This position functions within the OBICU unit at the Riley Maternity Tower. In this role, you will help to develop and implement strategies based on established evidence-based practice that encourages self-care, and helps to foster the physical, spiritual and the psychosocial well-being of the patient. Our team is ambitious and innovative as we strive to meet the needs of our patients while restoring their quality of life.
Being an OBICU nurse at IU Health and Riley Children’s Health means you play many roles. They are collaborators, educators, care coordinators, advocates, and change agents. They work with other healthcare team members and specialists to create comprehensive care plans to improve the health outcomes for mothers and newborns. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with providers and other services to create an environment of positive change.
