Job Description

Overview

Build your career with IU Health!  We have an exciting opportunity available for a Architect to join the IS Networking and Telephony team at our Downtown Indianapolis Location. 

The purpose of the Audio/Visual (AV) Architect role is to apply a broad range of expertise and experience to design and build amazing AV solutions for IU Health. This role will partner closely with Engineering team to support new locations, manage existing locations equipment refreshes, and drive opportunities for new technology, cost savings, and operational simplicity. The Architect role is familiar with multiple aspects of AV, as a functional team lead, they are tasked with complex work that will keep them and other AV engineers engaged and challenged. This individual will be expected to mentor junior team members, share their knowledge, and document/document/document.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read construction drawings and execute plan based on verbal instruction, meeting minutes, field notes, and sketches produces by design staff that adhere to company standards.
  • Activities include but are not limited to:
    – Review and understand project requirements with senior design staff
    – Develop AV plan device layouts
    – Create installation details
    – Create logic diagrams detailing audio/visual and control system requirements
    – Produce supporting equipment specifications detailing systems performance
    – Review contractor submittals for compliance with standards
    – Maintain regular communication with Project Managers and Field Staff for any changes to design or specifications and issue clarifications
    – Assist design staff in the creation of bid and review sets
    – Review RFP responses and assist in bid reviews
    – Perform site reviews detailing contractor progress

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE

 

  • Exceptional attitude for customer service and excellence. We need someone who is eager to learn and comes to work ready to tackle any situation.
  • General knowledge and familiarity with building construction, the ability to read and understand construction documents, plans, and specifications is a plus.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Display proficiency with PC office tools, such as: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, integrity, and flexibility.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three to five years of relevant work experience or degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a audio/visual design roll or similar relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with AMX, Crestron and Extron control systems.
  • Knowledge of Audio/Visual equipment manufactured by Cisco, Yealink, Extron, Biamp etc.
  • Knowledge video wall equipment manufacturers such as Barco, RGB Spectrum, and Planar.
  • Knowledge of digital signage equipment manufactured by Cisco, Scala, NEC, Samsung.
  • Must be able to manage strict timelines and multiple installation teams to meet deadlines.
  • Professional certifications (CTS, CTS-D) are a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
•5-7 years of experience required.
• Requires knowledge of EA frameworks and design tools.
