IU Health adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and aligns with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all the regulatory and accreditation standards.  The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning implementation, and with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency.  The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

If you are a team player and eager to learn and grow your more critical nursing skills, this PACU unit has availability for nurse.  We recover patients from a variety of procedures and surgical areas post anesthesia.  PACU serves our Level 1 Trauma services and remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This position is for weekday hours, with some weekend and night call required if needed.  Only 1 Holiday a year required.  PACU has a full time night and weekend staff.   Team members have the opportunity to self-schedule.  Self-schedules are balanced to meet the unit needs if necessary. 

Qualifications’/knowledge/skills/abilities

• Requires current state of Indiana License as a Registered Nurse
• Requires Basic Life support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. These certifications will be obtained with IU Health on orientation once position is secured.
• Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
