Job Description

Overview

The RN is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of proficient, evidence-based care, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and improve operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Riley has held the designation, awarded every four years, since 2006. Magnet recognition is widely considered the highest national credential for nursing excellence and is the gold standard for professional nursing practice.

The Riley O.R is a level 1 pediatric Trauma unit performing cases from opening heart surgeries all the way down to ear tubes.

This position will be doing the cardiovascular cases in the OR. We are currently seeking nurses who are self-motivated, flexible, and enjoy working as a team! Must possess strong critical thinking skills.

Hours: 0700-1730 (rotating days off) with call responsibilities required. 

Experience: Cardiovascular experience and 1 year of OR experience is requiredMust at least be licensed.

Qualifications/knowledge/skills/abilities

  • Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
