We are looking to fill a PRN Community Health Specialist position at the Monroe County Public Health Clinic in Bloomington. There is some flexibility to the work schedule however candidates should be available to work during the week and on weekends.
The Monroe County Public Health Clinic is a collaboration between IU Health Bloomington Hospital Community Health and the Monroe County Health Department. This partnership provides systems for identifying health risks in the community, preventing and controlling communicable disease outbreaks, educating the public and health professionals about health risks and prevention practices, and ensuring access to needed health services.
The Community Health Specialist at the Monroe County Public Health Clinic will be responsible for front office support and assisting with clerical tasks related to outreach. They serve as a bridge between the community and the health care, government and social service systems. They will assist individuals, families, groups and communities access resources, including health insurance, food, housing, quality care and health information. They also provide informal counseling, support, and follow-up.
