The Monroe County Public Health Clinic is a collaboration between IU Health Bloomington Hospital Community Health and the Monroe County Health Department. This partnership provides systems for identifying health risks in the community, preventing and controlling communicable disease outbreaks, educating the public and health professionals about health risks and prevention practices, and ensuring access to needed health services.

Shift: Full-Time; 32 hours; Monday – Thursday

Occasional weekend and On-Call availability required.

Job duties may include:

  • Immunization administration for all ages
  • Assist with Immunization Coordination for the Vaccines for Children’s program
  • Assist with communicable disease surveillance and case management
  • Assist with Tuberculosis Disease and Latent Tuberculosis Infection
  • Assist the local health department in emergency preparedness
  • Work occasional weekends or evenings to meet community health needs

Job Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • May require ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
