Job Description

Overview

The Pharmacy Specialist provides coordination and support for pharmacy department including process improvement, reporting and data analysis, and monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyzes and monitors claims against fraud, waste, and abuse. Investigates, reviews, and analyzes claims data applying knowledge of pharmacy policy and practice and data mining techniques to determine details of fraudulent, erroneous, or abusive billing activity. Utilizes LEAN principles to ensure efficient operations. Monitors and reports compliance issues with regulatory requirements. Manages database tools for internal processing of various components of pharmacy audit reports. Responsible for coordinating and ensuring all regulatory required activities are performed as required. Coordinates the development of pharmacy audit result reports as needed. Provides subject matter expertise, functional guidance, support, and training to pharmacy staff across the system. Performs Pharmacy Technician duties as required.

 High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License.
• Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification.
•Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
• Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Requires working knowledge of pharmacy operations.
• May require rotation of weekend call.
• May require travel to system pharmacies.
• May require on-call duties to answer retail system IS tickets.
