Technician-Powerhouse Nights- West Hospital

Job Description

Overview

Are you a night owl? This is an overnight position with opportunities for long-term growth.

Operates, repairs, documents and performs preventive maintenance needs of the powerhouse mechanical systems within the facility. Operates HVAC and mechanical equipment, which may include steam boilers, generators, chillers, water softeners and other auxiliary equipment to provide utility services. Observes meters and gauges to resolve operating conditions of equipment and to regulate flow of water, fuel, steam pressure and oxygen in accordance with needs and safety standards. Other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Power Engineering Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Requires general knowledge of electrical, mechanical equipment.
  • Requires current knowledge of various federal; state; local; OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Some computer knowledge needed and willing to learn.
