Riley Children's Hospital has an outstanding opportunity available for a Pediatric Echo Cardiac Technologist to join our Team at our downtown Indianapolis location.
This would be a day shift Monday-Friday role, and this employee will be required to take night and weekend echo on-call coverage as needed.
The Pediatric Echo Cardiac Technologist performs, administers and monitors pediatric Cardio-diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on pediatric cardiac sonography and Doppler studies. This Technologist obtains image and Doppler information required to define complex congenital heart disorders for patients referred for evaluation of non-corrected anatomy and function and/or evaluation of surgical reconstruction or repair. Provides physicians with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patient correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect when performing echocardiograms and excellent communication skills when speaking to family and medical professionals.
This Individual would need to have an excellent understanding of physiology and anatomy with some knowledge of pathology as it pertains to the heart. Assists in training hospital residents, fellows and echo students. This Tech is also involved in the preparation of echocardiography materials for case conferences, CQI meetings, research and educational presentations.
This employee will also need to be available for rotations to offsite clinics if required by job needs.
