Job Description

Overview

Position Summary

Schedules inpatient and outpatient rehab services including physical, occupational and speech therapies timely and accurately. Communicates effectively with other departments and referring provider offices to coordinate rehab services, including management of insurance coverage information and prior authorizations for services. Ensures efficient utilization of patient facilities to optimally support patient care, including stocking and cleaning treatment areas. Maintains a variety of records, insurance authorizations, etc. and performs related clerical and administrative duties. Ensures timely receipt of written order and verifies the orders meet compliance guidelines as a quality assurance measure. May be responsible for audit functions and performance improvement initiatives for the department.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cerner scheduling preferred.
  • Requires general knowledge of medical terminology and general anatomy in order to recognize and accurately record requested examinations and diagnoses.
  • Requires basic computer skills.
  • Scheduling experience preferred.
