Overview
2 years of retail experience, merchandizing experience required. Provides leadership and personnel management for assigned gift shops. Trains gift shop employees on procedures, policies and customer service. Evaluates and discusses areas of improvement for employees via direct one on one discussion and team meetings. Communicates to employees all of the new and revised policies as well as human resource issues. Builds sales and profitability for the gift shops by teaching employees how to focus on selling more profitable items when conducting add-on sales at the register. Provides input into performance evaluations. Consults with manager regarding corrective action and initiates corrective action when needed. Ensure that all financial and personnel records are kept confidential.Associate Degree preferred, 3-5 years of relevant experience required, HS diploma/GED required.
· Experience with inventory management, cash drawer reconciliation, personnel management, customer relations.
· Requires strong mathematical, oral and written communication skills.
· Requires ability to work flexible hours; including weekends on short notice to meet staffing needs.
· Requires ability to recognize and handle difficult situations, explain instructions in simple terminology, organize and process a high volume of work within established standards.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8hrs), lift 10-15 pounds regularly up to 50 pounds occasionally, possibility of weekend and evening coverage if necessary
