Overview

The Payroll Consultant will be responsible for assisting with state and federal tax registrations and filings.  Activities will involve calling and emailing to determine status of enrollment, determine what documentation is needed and resolving outstanding issues. 

Supports the payroll system and ancillary systems. Assists and collaborates with the payroll team members, leadership and customer groups to identify required system revisions and enhancements, assist with the changes and help work through post-implementation results. Assist in supporting the knowledge and expertise to analyze requests, provide analytics, participate in the development of new solutions, and troubleshoot resolutions of problems. Supports the partnerships and collaborates with internal and external departments, maintains data standards, and ensures comprehensive documentation of processes and reports. Support project teams, evaluates impact on projects from a payroll perspective and contribute to an accurate pay by understanding taxes, state and federal guidelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Payroll, Finance, Human Resources, Administration, related field, or equivalent years of experience is required.
• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience; previous payroll experience preferred.
• Prefers certification (including but not limited to SHRM-CP,PHR, CPP).
• Requires a knowledge and understanding of payroll related regulations and laws (e.g. ; FLSA; FICA; Unemployment; Worker's Compensation; etc.).
• Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment preferred.
• Requires experience exhibiting professional judgment and diplomacy in handling unexpected problems and frequent interruptions.
• Requires basic proficiency in Microsoft office (emphasis on Excel and Access) and Crystal Reports or comparable reporting tools.
