Days/Shift hours: Full time
  • Monday 730am-400p
  • Tuesday 730a-505p
  • Wednesday 730a-515p
  • Thursday 730a-430p
  • Friday 730a-210p

A Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care services in both a clinical setting and an operating room setting. Assists the dentist as needed for patient preparation, exams, and procedures, utilizing four handed dentistry, expanded functions, taking x-rays, maintaining clinical inventory supply, and providing customer service. Performs patient registration, scheduling appointments, chart maintenance, and patient correspondence. Maintains, organizes, stocks, and cleans dental equipment and unit(s). Assures smooth patient flow, provides patient education, explains insurance coverage/co-pays, obtains Medicaid Waivers, as needed, and provides clinic clerical support. Requires excellent skills in handling apprehensive or difficult to manage children. Requires ability to work with medically, physically, and/or mentally compromised patients.

  • Registered dental assistant license is preferred.
  • Previous experience or formal training as a dental assistant is required.
  • X-ray certification, CPR/BLS certification and dental radiographic certificate in the State of Indiana are required.
  • Ability to operate electronic medical/dental record systems is required.
  • Requires ability to perform expanded function dental assisting tasks.
  • Pediatric, orthodontic, or family dentistry experience.
  • Knowledge of Dentrix or Dexis computer programs. (or like applications)
  • An interest in learning and growing.
  • Willingness to work with patients with special behavioral or health needs.
  • Desire to make a difference in someone’s life.
