Coordinates the care of a similar patient population of high acuity patient of all ages within their department or specialty. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as the clinical expert of assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs department and system leadership or educational activities as necessary to support the specific department or specialty. Applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and may be responsible for developing a core curriculm in conjunction with the clinical educator, and oversee orientation and ongoing staff education and evaluation. Acts as a role model, resource person and member of the leadership team as well as keeping the organization's mission and vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities. This position is a working coordinator may provide duties with direct patient care, quality assurance activities, and day to day coordination of clinic direct patient care staff and clinical activities.
