Registered Nurse - Mother/Baby - Relocation and Sign On Bonus Incentive Available!

Job Description

Overview

The Mother Baby unit at Riley Maternity Services at Methodist Hospital is a 28 bed unit for patients after delivery, both for the moms and babies. While the focus for our patients care is obstetric, we take care of the patients as holistically as possible including taking care of our patient’s complex medical, emotional, and social needs.

Seeking RNs with at least 1 year of RN experience for this role; OB RN experience is preferred.

Our unit focuses on evidenced based care to ensure we are providing the best, most up to date care to our patients. Because of this, we are proud to be a World Health Organization Baby Friendly designated hospital. As a unit, we have a huge focus on “team” because just as it takes a village to raise a baby, it takes a great team to provide great care to our moms and babies! An ideal candidate for the Mother/Baby unit would be someone who loves to work on a team, loves to provide education and loves to spend time getting to know their patients and their individual needs.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive, personalized support system to new graduate nurses to help you transition to the role of professional nurse.

Once hired to a department, alongside nursing orientation, all new graduate nurses in their first nursing role will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The Nurse Residency program goals are to provide socialization and support, enhance clinical judgment, and promote professional development.

Safeguarding our patients and each other is an important part of how we deliver the best care possible to the communities we serve. As a condition of employment, IU Health requires all new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, barring an approved exemption. New hires will also be provided the option to submit proof of previous vaccination.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion at IU Health. IU Health does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, national origin, gender identity and/or expression, marital status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
