Job Description

Overview

Are you interested in utilizing your Respiratory Therapy license in a way that can benefit the lives of your patients, your community, and those you work with? Then come join the respiratory therapy team at University Hospital! We are currently looking for a Team Lead on night shift. 

This position provides shift coordination and accountability through leadership, supervision. Maintains continuity of care through accurate shift reports, appropriate distribution of staff resources, participation in performance assessment and improvements, and review of equipment and supply management. Participates in the delivery of comprehensive hospital based respiratory care services within a collaborative, multidisciplinary patient care team approach. This position maintains proficiency in neonatal, pediatric, and adult care techniques, as appropriate.

This is a full-time, benefited position and is eligible for the different opportunities for career and professional development for our staff that qualify for benefits. This includes continued education and certification opportunities and tuition reimbursement.

 Requires current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. registry exam be passed within 13 months of hire date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider BLS. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification. RRT;RCP;BLS RPSGT;RRT-NPS;SDS Requires 3-5 years experience in Respiratory Care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Independent judgment and the ability to facilitate integration of evidence based information into practice.
