The Registered Nurse in the Multispecialty Surgical Oncology Unit (3N) specializes in Surgical Oncology promoting safe recovery from surgeries that manage gastrointestinal cancer, chronic bowel disease, and hernia repairs. This individual will also gain experience in managing ostomies, complex wound care, and opioid-sparing pain management. A Registered Nurse on this unit will assist with bedside procedures, are trained in pain management, management of therapeutic specialty beds, hemodynamic monitoring, and are also trained in the insertion of small-bore feeding tubes and bowel management devices.
The Multispecialty Surgical Oncology unit is a fast-paced environment and provides excellent team collaboration. Our Registered Nurses educate patients and families of the illness while building professional relationships.
