Overview
Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a Polysomnographic Technician or a Polysomnographic Technologist.• Orientation check-offs completed within 90 days of hire.
• Competencies completed within 90 days of hire.
• AASM Modules completed within 180 days of hire.
• Attendance at monthly CEU presentations.
• Pass the board exam and become a credentialed (RPSGT) or certified by ABSM as a Registered Sleep Technologist within 2 years of hire.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Qualifications for the Polysomnographic (Sleep Lab) Technician Trainee, FT-Nights, Riley Children's Sleep Disorder Clinic Role
Overview
Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of a Polysomnographic Technician or a Polysomnographic Technologist.- High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of related post-secondary education or current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography.
- Orientation check-offs completed within 90 days of hire.
- Competencies completed within 90 days of hire.
- AASM Modules completed within 180 days of hire.
- Attendance at monthly CEU presentations.
- Pass the board exam and become a credentialed (RPSGT) or certified by ABSM as a Registered Sleep Technologist within 2 years of hire.
- Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
