Overview

Manager of Physical Security

(This position exists within System Ops and the Safety/Security/Disaster Preparedness team and reports to the Director-Organizational Excellence and Alignment)

The leader will oversee the daily enterprise operations of IU Health's physical security systems. This includes leading the team of support technicians across the system as well as leading the transition from IU Health's historical systems to new systems. Physical security includes IU Health's electronic access control system, video management system, badging operations, panic alarms and duress, and more. The role entails project management of different installations and renovations, maintaining and updating design standard documents, and partnering with our information systems teams to future-proof physical security and ensure compatibility. This leader will build and lead a highly engaged team, maintain daily operations of our physical security systems, and ensure we are continuously improving our capabilities as a health system.

Consistently identifies current and future customer needs and ensures the effective delivery of high quality and value added solutions, products, and services that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Shares thoughts and information in a clear, concise and professional manner, in both oral and written communication formats. Demonstrates active listening and seeks further information to ensure clarity and understanding. Proactively asks for input, and proactively obtains and applies the thoughts and ideas of others. Can clearly articulate a firm decision when needed, while simultaneously ensuring team members understand the "Why", the "How" and the "What". Promptly responds to requests for information, and works to proactively think through next steps and anticipate potential issues, requests, or business needs. Openly shares knowledge and expertise.

Leadership - Takes the initiative to proactively resolve issues, address concerns, identify potential risks, and improve overall processes and outcomes. Seeks new ways to improve individual and team efforts for overall success, while promoting collaboration and teamwork. Actions consistently exhibit and model the values of the organization.

Execution - Drives results by assigning clear authority and accountability, integrating and aligning efforts across the team, and monitoring progress against objectives. Addresses problems directly and drives changes necessary to achieve business objectives.

Project Management - Works with team members to develop solutions with sound methodologies, guidelines, and best practices. Makes decisions and solves problems within project plan parameters, recognizes patterns, time sequences, events, or underlying issues in complex relationships. Chooses the best alternative based on consideration of pros, cons, tradeoffs, timing, and available resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires 1-3 years of supervision/leadership experience.
  • Requires industry knowledge of physical security market and systems.
  • Requires technical expertise and understanding of physical security systems.
