What does the Outpatient Cardiology Nurse Position entail?
Outpatient Cardiology Clinic•Hours: Monday-Friday, NO Weekends, NO Evenings, NO On-call, NO Holidays!•Position Duties:oAccountable and responsible for coordination and provision of competent, evidence-based care, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation.oParticipate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to advance patient plan of care and enhance operational efficiency.oTriage incoming calls and messages from patients with medical concerns and questions and ensure timely and appropriate follow-up to resolve patient needs.oAssist with refill requests to the office.oPerform duties associated with symptom-management.oDirect in-clinic and/or telehealth patient care and quality improvement activities.oAssist with scheduling Cardiology testing and procedures on behalf of patients.oComplete necessary patient forms/documentation and/or direct patients to applicable resources to do so.oConduct patient education relative to cardiology procedures and testing.oOnsite patient assessment as needed.oEngage with and establish trusted and reliable provider partnerships.oTriage experience preferred, but not required.oIMPORTANT NOTE: This position is not typically in-person patient facing or bedside care. Although you will be onsite daily in an outpatient clinic setting, you will primarily support patients remotely via phone, messages, and patient portal interactions. Requirements:
•Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
•Requires current state of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse.
•Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
•Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
•Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialtyaccording to patient care policies.
•Requires ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.
•Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities andperformance as a Registered Nurse.
