Job Description

Overview

Manager - Data Science and Clinical Insights

This challenging role leverages specialized knowledge of the health plan industry to drive regulatory compliance and financial success in the realms of risk score accuracy, supplemental data submissions, and the advanced analytics to support the improvements of healthcare outcomes.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience managing the technical process of Medicare Advantage HCC supplemental data submission to CMS.
  • Experience managing the technical process of administering the EDGE Server for Small Group ACA risk adjustment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds the data architecture that supports the work of the department. 
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to build the clinical analytic tools necessary to extract clinical insights from a variety of data sources.
  • Designs and implements data architectures to enable rapid analysis and generation of clinical insights. 
  • Builds and maintains data infrastructure that enables the clinical translation of administrative and financial information. 
  • Builds data infrastructure that incorporates data from multiple sources into one centralized location. 
  • Provides direction on best practices for data storage and retrieval that meets analytic needs. 
  • Develops and supports ETL connections to data sources and business intelligence solutions. 
  • Directs and supervises the work of analysts within the Health Economics Outcomes team. 
  • Establishes work strategies and priorities that lead to successful and timely deliverables. 
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop innovative analytic tools that bring clinical and business insights to unsolved problems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of working with clinicians to create data and analytic solutions preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated working knowledge of SQL and data modeling preferred.
  • Experience working with data warehousing.
  • Requires experience managing multiple complex projects involving multiple customers.
  • Knowledge and experience working with business intelligence visualization applications (Tableau, Power BI).
