IU Health has an exciting opportunity available for a PET CT- Technologist to join our team at our Methodist Hospital location in Indianapolis. 

This position will be Monday- Friday on our day shift, working 7:30a-3:30p.  On-call will be as needed.  Sign on bonus opportunity available for qualified candidates!

The PET CT- Technologist works under the direction of a physician or operation manager and with supervision of CT and Nuclear Medicine section team leaders, performs diagnostic studies utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and operation of PET/CT equipment for image acquisition and radiopharmaceutical distribution through organs, body functions and analyze biologic specimens. This Technologist performs diagnostic CT and fusion of PET/CT images for physician interpretation. Previous Nuclear Medicine experience is preferred for this role.

  • Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
  • Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): CNMT.
  • Requires advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through the ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months of hire.
  • Requires experience as a registered CT and Nuclear Medicine technologist.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Requires knowledge of PACS/RIS for training and problem resolution.
  • Requires knowledge of anatomy; physiology; mathematics; chemistry; physics; biology; radiation safety; clinical nuclear instrumentation; computer operation and laboratory techniques.
  • Requires an excellent working knowledge of PET and CT procedures; the appropriate imaging protocols to be followed and in-vivo procedures.
  • Requires a strong understanding of the handling of radiopharmaceuticals during the receipt; storage; administration; and disposal process.
  • Requires an excellent working knowledge of imaging equipment and proper quality control criteria for each type of instrument being used.
  • Requires knowledge of proper laboratory procedures and a strong understanding of all hospital; state and federal policies and regulations regarding the handling of radioactive materials; hazardous chemicals; and body fluids.
