Job Description

Overview

Provides physical therapy services to restore function, reduce pain and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assists patients to reach maximum performance levels. Provides all components of direct patient care including supervision of physical therapist assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations. In addition, this position exists to support the department by being the exemplar resource in abilities, ownership, and maintaining the standards of service for Physical Therapy through quality initiatives, mentorship, and clinical education contributing to the professional development of physical therapists.

  • Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in physical therapy.
  • If foreign trained, graduation from a physical therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
  • Requires current Physical Therapist license in the State of Indiana.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Team members are required to have 1 year of continuous employment at IU Health.
  • Team members must meet all Career Advancement Pathway eligibility requirements and submit a portfolio outlining plan to achieve 25 points according to the Career Advancement Pathway Manual. Once in position, team members must continue to meet all Career Advancement Pathway eligibility requirements and achieve 25 points annually to remain in position.
