Overview
The Labor & Delivery unit at Riley Maternity Services is comprised of 27 inpatient beds,10 OB Emergency Dept bed, 4 OR Rooms, and 6 Recovery/PACU beds. While the focus for our patients care is obstetric, we take care of the patients as holistically as possible including taking care of our patient’s complex medical, emotional, and social needs. Our unit cares for many high risk pregnancies (both fetal and maternal).
Our unit focuses on evidenced based care to ensure we are providing the best, most up to date care to our patients. Our unit is like a family…team work is our biggest strength. If you are adaptable, compassionate, and like working in a fast paced environment, we’d love to meet you!
At least 1 year of RN experience preferred; experience in OB nursing a plus! Will consider new grads with CNA/PCA experience. BSN preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
o Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
o Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
o Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
o Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
o Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Once hired to a department, alongside nursing orientation, all new graduate nurses in their first nursing role will have the opportunity to participate in a Nurse Residency Program called "Transition to IU Health Nursing Practice." The Nurse Residency program goals are to provide socialization and support, enhance clinical judgment, and promote professional development.
