Overview

Are you looking for a full-time pediatric Registered Nurse position where you can make a positive impact on the lives of your patients while also building strong relationships with your colleagues and developing your nursing practice with the support of your colleagues? The Registered Nurse in our Center of Hope will be in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Riley Children’s Hospital. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of RN experience. Our Center of Hope offers private, individual, compassionate care by a specially trained forensic Registered Nurse to victims of a violent crime. The Center of Hope helps victims of sexual assaults, violence, physical assaults, child abuse, and human trafficking. Forensic nurses collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hospital staff, law enforcement, and advocacy centers to provide the patient with holistic patient care and support while caring for the unique needs of these individuals. Forensic physical assessment, evidence collection, forensic documentation/photography, and courtroom testimony are all unique skills learned while working in this detailed oriented and continuously changing environment. The Center of Hope is known for its commitment to continuous learning and offers a more autonomous nursing practice environment. Our Forensic nurses are involved in the community by teaching others the aspects of forensic nursing through our professional organizations and forming a collaborative working relationship with these individuals.

Hours: 3p-3a, Full-time

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
