Build your career with IU Health! We have an exciting opportunity available for a Educational Liaison to join the School Program team at our Riley Childrens Hospital.
The Educational Liaison provide support for the educational needs of pediatric patients including but not limited to, collaborative educational planning with the patient's local school system throughout hospitalization, treatment, and long-term needs, providing direct instruction/bedside instruction for students Kindergarten - 12th grade, providing school recommendations from medical team (Individualized Education Plans (IEP's), 504 plans, and Health Care Plans) and serving as an advocate for patients. Consults with patient's family, school, and medical team regarding educational needs. Administers academic achievement testings for identified patients. Arranges and participates in school conference meeting, as able, to effectively communicate the patient's medical teams recommendations and school needs in the school environment. Maintains organization of student electronic files, chart notes, and student information adhering to HIPAA regulations.
