Job Description

Overview

Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

 

Facilitate purchasing of medication and associated supplies for inpatient pharmacy, components of IUSCC Simon Cancer Center and CICCs (Central Indiana Cancer Centers), and clinics associated with our facility 

• Use computerized inventory software (i.e., Swisslog Pharmacy Manager and BoxPicker) to analyze, record, track, and maintain all inventory related data 

• Partner with inpatient pharmacy, ISC, as well as clinics and other departments on fulfilling on-demand medication needs and logistics coordination 

• Investigate drug shortages and create mitigation strategies with AAHC leadership 

• Simplify data tracking efficiency with products received and distributed 

• Connect with IS team on new drug builds and inventory software solutions 

• Coordinate removal of expired products and discuss opportunities with reverse distributor 

• Be a liaison with drug manufacturers for account creation, maintenance, and on-going supply needs 

• Coordinate return or sequestration of defective/recalled products

 • Maintain REMS compliance with distribution, ordering, and documentation 

• Work with management team to brainstorm ways to reduce inventory waste or add new products 

• Ensure all stock (including supplies) is organized, properly stored, and in good condition 

• Conduct inventory projects and analysis---contract compliance, workflow optimizations, etc.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Requires Pharmacy Technician National Certification.
  • 5+ years relevant experience preferred.
  • Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
  • Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
  • Requires full proficiency as a pharmacy technician in assigned areas and ability to work within established procedures under limited supervision.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires strong customer service skills.
  • Requires intermediate proficiency typing and using Microsoft Office applications.
