Riley Children's Hospital is currently seeking an innovative nurse to join as a Clinical Specialty Coordinator for the Orthopedic service line. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse to grow in their career! This position will work 2-10s (7:00a-5:30p) and 2-8 hour shifts, (7:00a-3:30p).
The Specialty RN coordinates a service line of care for a similar patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing and appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. This Coordinator also serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary to support the specific service line. This coordinator applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate, and is responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education, for the service line and oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the service line. Another important role of this Coordinator is they will act as a role model, resource person, and member of the management team as well as keeping the organization Inc. Mission and Vision at the forefront of all patient care and system activities.
Experience working in a OR setting is highly preferred for this role.
